BRUSSELS - Lebanon, Algeria, Iraq, Tunisia, Egypt, Sudan,Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates would welcome Syria returning to the Arab League, a source in Brussels told Sputnik Tuesday.

On Monday, the secretary general of the organization, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, said that Syria's return required the agreement of all the current member states of the Arab League, but so far no compromise had been reached.

"At least 8 Arab League members Lebanon, Algeria, Iraq, Tunisia, Egypt, Sudan, the UAE and Bahrain are positive about Syria's return to the Arab League," the source said.
